Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally launched a nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise with the declared target of adding 20 million new voters to the electoral register before the 2027 general elections.

The commission has deployed registration officers and biometric equipment to all 774 local government areas across the country, with special emphasis on reaching young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 25.
