Nigerian technology startups have attracted a record $1.2 billion in venture capital and private equity funding during the first half of 2026, according to data compiled by the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
Fintech companies accounted for the largest share of investments, followed by healthtech, agritech, and logistics platforms. The figures represent a 34 percent increase over the same period last year.
Lagos remains the epicentre of activity, with international investors citing the city's expanding talent pool, large consumer market, and improving regulatory environment as key attractions.
